Tokyo Blue, Stunning, Sexy and Smooth

Tokyo Blue quietly opened last Saturday night (soft opening) yet it was filled with all the highly anticipated glitz and glamour one would expect from a restaurant of this magnitude.

Tokyo Blue's pre-advertising was all about "soon to be on everyone's lips" and now that it is, it truly has not disappointed. My Guy and I had dinner Saturday night in the dining room after having cocktails in the super-sexy ultralounge. Tokyo Blue has a specialty drink menu so we gave it a taste, I had the Signature Tokyo Blue martini and My Guy had the Citrus Sake-tini. These are not your mad-men martini's! Give 'em a whirl for yourself.

I've lived in South Florida for 25 years with a brief stint for three years in Thailand and have never had such authentic Thai food this far West. Chef Mai the executive Chef at Tokyo Blue is without a doubt a superstar with his Thai food preparation and presentation.

I had the Pad Thai which apparently to some is a bit tricky to make as they tend to over cook it. Not at Tokyo Blue, Chef Mai "has stuck the landing" in making and serving (in my opinion) the perfect Pad Thai this side of the world. Just as you would base your opinion on chicken parmesan or a simple bowl of pasta in an Italian restaurant Pad Thai is a classic dish in Thailand and one most people will hold their overall views of a Thai restaurant about.

My Guy ordered the miso-glazed Black Cod which was perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned and perfectly balanced with flavors. We ordered the dumplings for an appetizer which were delightful bites of steamed dough that melted in your mouth. The dumplings are worth going to Tokyo Blue daily just for a fix! They're that addicting.

What impressed me the most, the owner came over to our table introduced himself to us and welcomed us to his restaurant. We have found our new favorite place on the ocean! Next time we're back for sushi! (and dumplings!) Tokyo Blue 4040 Galt Ocean Drive Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308 (954) 566-7500
